Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Welcome to GlowMink (“we,” “our,” “us”)!

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS applications (“the Services”). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Data Collection

Types of Data Collected:

- Personal Information: Subscription data tied to your Apple ID, including subscription status and transaction history.

- Face photographs: Two-dimensional photos you take with the camera or choose from your photo library in order to use try-on and analysis features. These photos typically include your face, hair, and shoulders. We do not collect Face ID data, a 3D face map, TrueDepth or ARKit face geometry, or a biometric face template.

- Derived appearance labels: For color season analysis only, we may derive non-biometric labels from your photo (for example approximate hair color, eye color, skin tone, undertone, contrast, and color season).

- Generated images: Edited or generated looks that may still depict your face (for example a new hair color, hair style, makeup, or outfit).

- Non-Personal Information: Device type, operating system version, app usage data, and error logs.

- Financial Information: Subscription details (e.g., active subscription plans) processed via RevenueCat and the Apple App Store.

Collection Methods:

- Data you provide directly: When you take or choose a photo, subscribe to premium features, or contact customer support.

- Data collected automatically: Through integration with RevenueCat for subscription management and Mixpanel for in-app analytics. Analytics events do not include your photographs.

3. Purpose of Data Collection

We use the collected data for the following purposes:

- To provide and maintain the Service.

- To generate hair color, hair style, makeup, and outfit try-on results from a photo you submit.

- To analyze a photo you submit for color season recommendations (hair, skin, eye, and undertone traits).

- To show and store looks you keep in History on your device.

- To check subscription status and manage access to premium features.

- To process payments securely through third-party systems.

- If you request a refund from Apple, we may share information with Apple about whether your purchase was delivered, whether a free trial was provided and how the purchased features were used. Apple may use this information when deciding your refund request.

- To debug and improve app performance.

- To comply with legal obligations and prevent fraudulent activity.

We do not use face photographs for advertising, to identify you across other companies’ apps, or as a biometric identifier (for example Face ID).

4. Sharing and Disclosure of Data

We may share your data with the following parties:

- RevenueCat: To manage subscriptions and verify purchase statuses. RevenueCat does not receive your photographs.

- Apple App Store: To process subscription payments and handle billing or refund disputes.

- Mixpanel: To measure app usage and performance. Mixpanel does not receive your photographs.

- Our hosting provider (Render): To operate the backend that receives a photo you submit so we can return a try-on or analysis result.

- Google (Gemini): To process a photo you submit and return a generated image or color season analysis. This processing is required to provide those features.

- Service Providers: For analytics, hosting, debugging, and improving app performance.

Photographs are sent over HTTPS. We do not sell your personal data, including face photographs, to third parties.

You may also share a generated look yourself using the device share sheet (for example Messages or social apps). That sharing is under your control.

5. Data Storage and Security

Storage Duration:

- Subscription and usage data are retained as long as your account remains active and as required to comply with legal obligations.

- Face photographs and generated looks that you keep are stored on your device in the app’s History until you delete them or uninstall the app.

- Temporary files created while generating a look are stored briefly on your device and are removed by iOS in the ordinary course.

- We do not operate a permanent server-side gallery of your face photographs. Images are transmitted to our backend and to Google Gemini to fulfill your request and are not retained by us as stored user content after the result is returned, except as briefly required to complete that request or as required by law. Google’s processing of the image is subject to Google’s terms for the Gemini API.

Security Measures:

- We implement encryption, secure server protocols (HTTPS), and strict access controls to protect your data.

- Photographs are resized and compressed on your device before upload.

Data Location:

- On-device History is stored in the GlowMink app sandbox on your iPhone and is protected by iOS Data Protection. It may be included in an encrypted iCloud or computer backup of that device.

- Your data may also be processed in secure data centers located within the United States or other countries where our service providers (including our hosting provider and Google) operate.

6. User Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

- Access: Request access to your subscription and app usage data.

- Correction: Update or correct inaccuracies in your account information.

- Deletion: Delete History items in the app. Uninstalling the app deletes History stored on that device.

- Portability: Obtain a copy of your subscription data in a portable format.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the form on our website: https://www.glowmink.com/contact

7. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use tracking technologies to:

- Monitor app usage patterns.

- Analyze app performance.

- Verify subscription statuses.

These technologies do not collect or upload your face photographs. You can manage app tracking preferences through your iOS settings.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before interacting with them.

Google’s processing of images you submit for try-on or analysis is described in Google’s privacy policy and Gemini API terms.

9. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notification or email.
